The Bible will not only help you face, but will also help you conquer the sin in your life. In Biblical counseling, all that is needed to help another person love God and his neighbor as he should, is found in the Bible.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;”
(2 Timothy 3:16)
“And concerning you, my brothers and sisters, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.” (Romans 15:14)
As followers of Christ, we are equipped to counsel one another – not from our own ideas, but from the Bible. Biblical, or nouthetic counseling, consists of lovingly confronting people out of deep concern in order to help them make those changes that God requires. Every believer should learn to counsel others from the Word.
“But we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who diligently labor among you and are in leadership over you in the Lord, and give you instruction,” (1 Thessalonians 5:12)
